Speed and Quantity of Sketches

How many sketches you receive will vary on the size and medium and the duration of live art you book.

Standard 7″ x 10″ watercolor & pen sketches: ~ 10-15 minutes per person

Standard 7″ x 10″ pen only sketches: ~ 6-9 minutes per person

Mini 5″ x 7″ watercolor & pen sketches: ~ 5-8 minutes per person

Mini 5″ x 7″ pen only sketches: ~ 4 minutes per person

Live sketches start at $1900 for three hours, or $2800 for a full 5 hour event. To request a custom quote, share your event details in this form.

Bride and groom and other VIP sketches typically receive an extra 10 minutes of detailing. Other guest sketches may be given more than estimated times above, if no other guests are not ready yet.

A portion of each event will be spent procuring initial reference photos for initial guests who sign up to be sketched. A physical sign-up sheet typically accommodates a little more than the expected number of sketches that can be done during the event.

After the physical sign-up sheet is full, additional guests have the option of using a QR code to independently upload their own photos via my website to get on the waitlist, in the event there is more time left over for sketches after sign-up sheet is completed.

Even if there is not enough time to sketch everyone during the event, there is still an option to purchase additional Encore Sketches after the event. This option allows you to review and purchase sketches from the guest photos on the waitlist, after the event is over. Encore sketches are priced per sketch (pricing varies pending size/medium), completed in studio and delivered to one location.

Can I provide sketches to all my guests as favors?

Yes! It is possible, but not common. Usually live sketching is during the event and not all guests receive a sketch. Not everyone wants to be drawn, however the process entertains everyone around!

To request a custom favors quote so all guests can have art, share your event details in this form.

If you want to spread the art joy to everyone, yet there is not time during the event for all guests to be sketched, additional time can be accommodated in studio, after the event. These “encore sketches” can be built into your package *or* you may review options to purchase them separately after the event.

Live Watercolor Sketches

Add a splash of color and the fashionable whimsy of watercolor sketches to your event. Your guests will feel like they arrived on the red carpet after they receive their watercolor sketch!

These small works of art are painted quickly with minimal facial details, and expressive pen strokes. Since watercolor sketches typically showcase standing figures, guests will pose for a photograph. Guests can then watch the artist in action, continue to comfortably mingle during the event, and return later to receive their finished piece!

There may be more guests photographed than time allows for painting during the event. Extra time can be purchased for additional, optional VIP sketches purchased and painted after the event.

Pricing and Booking Guidelines

Live art for petite events (3 hours) starts at $1900 and is edible for events within 2 months of booking.

Full events (5+ hours) starts at $2800 and may be booked years in advance.

Favor packages to accommodate all your guests are customized special for each event.

Live Pen Sketches

Some people call these caricatures and some call them illustrations. This pen sketch style is realistic, romantic, and impressionistic. The process of being drawn and conversing with the artist is a novelty to entertain– however the art itself is not drawn to mock or accentuate flaws. The artist draws what she sees and embraces authentic imperfection yet still sees [and draws!] the best in people.
