Abigail Syltie

Syltie’s acrylic paintings have two separate ideas yet are unified with vibrant colors and interesting compositions. The first series incorporates motorcycles and bicycles, telling a human tale of life about how sometimes we are strong while at other times we fall apart. Theses pieces incorporate sculpture into the composition giving the paintings and extra layer of dimension. The second group of pieces is a new venture of painting pet portraits. They are very stylized and capture each canine expression and personality.

Abigail Syltie has always been drawing and painting her life and loves to be creative. She received and degree of Fashion Design from the University of North Texas and an Associates of Interior Design from El Centro while working at her current job designing kitchens. Her hobbies painting, playing guitar and singing, running, and getting together with friends.

Heather Griffin

Griffin’s choice subject matter is portraiture and nature. She depicts these with a mixture of realism and impressionism (primarily oil, some acrylic, and pencil) and works from her own photography for her personal work. Many works in this show derive and consist of Griffin’s photographs taken while adventuring the Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma area. Griffin seeks to express her joy in life by painting her favorite moments, creatures, close friends and family.

Heather Griffin is a manyfaceted artist with a love of nature influenced by her upbringing in rural Arkansas. Her passion is drawing, painting, and photography. She also works in graphic design after receiving a full merit scholarship and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Southern Arkansas University. She moved to Dallas in 2009 years ago to explore new career opportunities. Now, by day she works in pattern artwork design for home bedding, graphic design and branding. She also does custom portraiture and spends some of her weekends providing photography and design for families, weddings and other events. Heather is highly creative and constantly finding new projects to apply her skills.
