Today’s face sketch comes from a reference photo I took on the wedding day of my friend Michelle Roscoe. She was a lovely bride– this shot was actually taken before her hair was put into the up-do. This shot is an interesting 3/4, above view of the face– I need to practice this angle more often. Getting the initial proportions correct will set the tone of the success of the drawing. Seeing the before and the after side by side helps me really self-critique. I seem to have a tendency to make the eyes occupy more of the face than they should and/or not include enough length between eyes and nostrils.
Hope your weekend has gone well! Mine has gone too quickly, as always.
