The Irving Art Association provided free beginning oil painting classes in the month of January, taught by Cristie Campo.
While I don’t consider myself quite a beginner at painting, I have primarily used acrylics as of late. My great-grandmother did a lot of oil painting, and even taught me a lesson or two when I was almost too small to recall. So I thought I would embrace this opportunity to (re)familiarize myself with the medium. It was definitely an educational endeavor!
Here are some snapshots I took during our last day of class– we had already done a black and white painting, and spent our last couple of hours in class adding the layer of color.
