I’ve made it to thirty days! Tonight I sketched my grandfather Donald — this is another photo I took at my niece’s 2nd birthday party. So my Papa is a pretty great man. He’s not only the father of my father, but he also conducted my wedding ceremony. Very special. The adaptations he’s made and his zeal for life despite the trials and passing of my grandmother a couple of years ago inspire me. Also, I think wrinkles are under-appreciated. There are so many stories in the age of his face, I’m sure– and I’m blessed to be a character in many of them.
Now that I can take a step back, I’m not really content with my shape of this forehead. My fast sketches are so immediate and the fast time frame leaves little room for adjustment. I will be shifting gears soon to allow more room for progress. There will be some changes with my Face project in February– only two days away! Stay tuned for what’s next.
