Today’s theory of mine: Fifteen minutes should be enough time to accurately capture proportions and the major details of a face.
That said, I’m rusty. I just did this little fifteen minute sketch. I have a long way to go before I appease myself within this meager time constraint. I need to get back into the habit of drawing faces. Through repetition of quickly capturing a countenance, I should hone my observation and drawing skills.
I’m posting this mostly to serve as a benchmark for progress comparison later as I get back into the saddle. I would like to create a series of fifteen minute faces. Within those parameters I may have varying subject matter (people and animals) as well as different styles and mediums– though I’ll probably do many pencil sketches before I up the ante.
